We have been expanding our line of hand painted fibers to include hand painted yarns. We now have 5 base yarns that we are hand painting. Two of them are sock yarns. There are also a DK weight, a bulky weight and the most scrumptious boucle called Baby WooBoo, that is a blend of Baby alpca, Merino wool and bamboo fiber. The yarns are available in a selection of my bamboo colors, with a goal of offering all of the fibers/yarns in all of the colors. We can do a custom order for you if you would like. Bamboo fiber is a natural fiber made from the pulp of the bamboo grass. Bamboo fiber has been growing in popularity because it has unique properties and is more sustainable thanmost textile fibers. Bamboo fiber is light and strong, has excellent wicking properties and is to some extent antibacterial.
Bamboo is very soft and can be worn next to the skin. The fiber is naturally smooth and round without being chemically treated. This smoothness and roundness creates its silk-like sheen.
